Ingredients to make the Spiced Pear Syrup:

  • 1 cup (240ml) of water

  • 1 cup (200g) of sugar

  • 1 ripe pear (or 1 cup of canned pear halves), chopped

  • 1-2 cinnamon sticks, or 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  • In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

  • Add the chopped pear and spices. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the pears are very soft.

  • Let the mixture cool slightly. Carefully transfer it to a blender and blend until smooth.
